Frequently asked questions

What is the SAT exam, and who needs it in Italy?
The SAT is College Board's admission test, taken on the Bluebook app. In Italy it is an alternative to the university's own test at several universities: Politecnico di Torino (instead of the TIL, with at least 650 in each section), Politecnico di Milano (instead of the TOL, converted to the TOL scale), Bocconi (at least 1040, and 520 per section), Luiss (at least 1200), and some English-taught courses at Bologna, Torino, Sapienza, Cattolica, Trento and Ca' Foscari. Each call for applications sets its own minimum and accepted test dates.
How is the SAT test structured?
Two sections, each in two timed modules: Reading and Writing, 27 questions per module in 32 minutes; Math, 22 questions per module in 35 minutes, with a 10-minute break in between. Two questions per module are unscored. On the real SAT, Module 2 is easier or harder depending on how you did in Module 1.
How do typed-in Math answers work?
About a quarter of SAT Math questions have no options: you type the number. Up to 5 characters (6 for a negative), fractions or decimals; a mixed number goes in as 7/2 or 3.5, never 3 1/2; no %, comma or $ signs.
How does SAT practice in the app differ from the real exam?
Our simulations keep the real modules, timings and question types, but Module 2 is fixed, not adaptive, and we show your raw scores (out of 54 and 44), not a 400–1600 estimate: College Board does not publish its conversion. All questions are original; none are taken from College Board practice tests.
Is the app free?
Yes. The Free plan is free forever. Premium is €19/month, €39 every 3 months or €59 every 6 months, renewing automatically (App Store pricing on iPhone/iPad may differ); cancel anytime.
